POLL: 60% of Americans Don’t Trust the Media to Tell the Truth
A new poll finds that America’s trust in the media is getting worse, not better. Now fully 60 percent say that the media is untrustworthy and won’t report the truth.
At a time when Americans are relying heavily on the media for information about the coronavirus pandemic, the presidential election and other momentous events, the public remains largely distrustful of the mass media.
This is the lowest percentage of those who trust the media since Gallup’s 2016 findings when it was down at 32 percent. And trust hasn’t been above 50 percent on the Gallup polls since 2003.
